Make sure you hire a dog trainer who has received their credentials from the CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers). The CCPDT is the leading independent certifying organization for the dog training profession. The CCPDT is the frontrunner in the development of rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery of humane, science-based dog training practices. The trainer should have one or more of the following after their name: CPDT-KA; CPDT-KSA; or CBCC-KA.
